Assoc. Prof. Hoang Anh Tuan – USSH’s vice president giving opening speech
“Soft skills is a solid part of human’s lives” stated Assoc. Prof. Hoang Anh Tuan, USSH’s vice president in his opening speech. He emphasized the importance and urgency of learning and practicing soft skills, the struggle of his own as well as other teachers to find the best and most appropriated solution to prevent soft skills to become obstackles to the students on their roads to win employers over.
To stress the needs of soft skills for students, Mr. Pham Huy Cuong PhD, USSH’s Student Operation department representative, announced the school’s research result regarding employers’ demands from students, according to which, extra attention were paid to soft skills needed for the job such as communication skills, team work, planning skills and organizing skills.
As a sequel to Mr. Cuong’s speech, Ms. Yen Do shared some facts about employers’ needs and demands for their staff, especially fresh graduated. They lack many skills including self identification which is the ability to tell what they like, want and intent to do so that they can plan to act accordingly in order to achieve something in lives. These are the basic initial steps to overcome the future and establish a career.
Additionally, issues relating to discipline, sense of responsibility and self conscious were also brought up.
